Incorporating Experiential Learning in General Education Courses: Enhancing Student Engagement through Research

Format: All Commonwealth Campuses

In this session, we will explore innovative approaches to the integration of sustainable landscape practices and undergraduate general science courses. This session highlights how the instructors have worked together through the Commonwealth Arboretum Network to develop a course for the Digital Learning Cooperative, use the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) program, and create research and engagement opportunities for students in their undergraduate general education courses, specifically BISC 3. We will share how this project has increased student interest in experiential learning on their campuses.
