Engaging Students through Peer Review in Both Remote and Residential Courses

Format: All Commonwealth Campuses, Online, Recording

Allowing students to review each other’s work enhances student engagement in courses. They interact with each other and the content of the course. This session discusses two different techniques that were used for peer review. In an online asynchronous graphic design course, students used the Canvas Peer Review and discussion tools to present their critiques. In a residential composition course, students listened to music while “speed dating” portions of a draft of an assignment. Activities like the ones presented in this presentation frame peer review as fun and interactive while helping students improve their communication skills.
